How many Earth Days you will be able to celebrate?

Frankly speaking , I never wanted to give a day to Earth to celebrate, cause Earth is the base of life. It should be in our daily routine. Why do we need a day for Earth!!? - A slice from Wikipedia
Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network,[1] and celebrated in more than 192 countries each year.[2]

So, now you know it's for environmental protection. But why we need environmental protection now? Answer to this question may be long and complex. But I can extract these simple reasons  -
Greed and Ignorance.

For details reasons and effects you can follow the following link.

Whatever damage has been done already, every individual can make small effort to reduce the damages done.

At First I am going to give you some generic solution for environmental protection.

  • Controlling the population[ At max two child policy- Only one right now Earth can afford]
  • Reduce, reuse and recycle.
Now let's move to type and pollution and their respective efforts we can make to reduce them.

  • Light only those areas where it is much needed or say necessary. [Light in your lawn at night makes no senses ]
  • Turn lights off whenever it is not in use. Apply technology to switch it off by timer or by something else like occupancy sensor
  • Remember: You don't need to light the sky at night.
  • Lights should be in downward direction not upwards if its for outdoor.
  • Intensity of the light should not be too bright.

  • Minimal Honking anywhere. [ No honking around hospitals]
  • Low intensity loud speakers should be used and should be used in moderate volume
  • Use latest technology to reduce the noise
  • Maintain your equipment to keep the low noise[ Vehicle, machines etc]
  • No dumping of products in soil which can't be easily decomposed.
  • Don't burn crop residue on ground.
  • Moderate the use of chemical compost and pesticide while farming.
  • Don't bury any kind of plastic in soil.
  • Use natural compost
  • Try to minimize soil erosion by plating trees in those areas.
  • Diversify the crops in the same field.
  • Don't water your garden or field with hard water.
  • Use water sensibly.
  • If possible have drinking separately and other water for bath, toilet and kitchen.
  • Treat industrial waste / domestic sewage at source.
  • Don't throw garbage in rivers/ponds etc no matter how dirty it appears.
  • Moderate the use of chemical compost and pesticide while farming.
  • Reduce electricity consumption. [ Major electricity still comes from coal]
  • Switch your electricity to solar electricity.
  • Try to minimize your carbon footprint.
  • Car Pooling.
  • Use of public transport.
  • Don't try to burn anything inorganic.[ Plastic, garbage etc]
  • Plant as many trees as you can.
  • Purchase local grown food

    To be continued...
